Traditional gender roles definitely are taught lessons that need to be confined to history. My boomer father was raised in a children's home so he had no family life frame of reference. When he married my mum he worked full time, took on 50% of the childcare and cooked and baked all the time, because he had never been taught it was the woman's job.
